Wood grading refers to the natural appearance and character of the floor, including the amount of knots, grain variation and colour differences between boards.
Prime (AB): The most uniform and expensive cut with almost no knots or color variation, ideal for minimalist, modern spaces.
Select (ABC): A refined middle ground featuring small, rare knots and slight natural grain variations for a clean but authentic residential look.
Natural/Classic (ABCD): The most popular choice, displaying a balanced "real wood" character with medium knots, visible sapwood, and distinct color shifts.
Rustic (CD): A rugged, high-contrast grade with large knots and cracks that easily hides wear and tear, perfect for traditional or high-traffic settings.
Antique: grade flooring has a deliberately aged, rustic look with visible cracks, textured surfaces, and strong colour variation ideal for a heritage or characterful style.
An oiled wood floor uses natural oils that soak into the wood, enhancing the grain and creating a soft, matte, authentic look it's easy to repair and ongoing maintenance recommended to keep it looking new.
Shorter boards included in fixed-length engineered flooring to help start or finish rows these are standard, don’t affect quality or coverage, and help reduce waste for a more efficient installation.

Heritage Natural Oak is a beautifully characterful engineered wood floor designed to celebrate everything we love about real oak. Its Bold Rustic grade showcases the timber’s natural knots, grain patterns, colour variation and distinctive markings, ensuring every plank has its own individual character.
The surface is lightly brushed to bring out the natural texture of the grain before being finished with oil, giving the floor a wonderfully tactile feel and a soft, natural appearance rather than an artificial shine. The warm, understated oak tones make it incredibly versatile, pairing beautifully with both contemporary kitchens and traditional living spaces.
Constructed as a stable 3-ply engineered board, Heritage Natural Oak features a generous 3mm real oak wear layer and a substantial 190mm width. The fixed 1900mm lengths, complemented by split planks within the packs, help create an elegant, flowing appearance across larger rooms while allowing for a practical installation pattern.
A convenient click profile makes installation straightforward, while the engineered construction provides greater stability than traditional solid wood flooring.
