Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT & SPC) Warranty & Installation Guide
This document applies to:
Glue-Down LVT (fully adhered installations)
SPC / Rigid Core Click LVT (floating installations)
1. Easy Step Flooring Warranty Commitment
Easy Step Flooring warrants that its Luxury Vinyl Tile products are free from manufacturing defects at the time of purchase.
We provide:
25-Year Residential Warranty
(Subject to the conditions outlined below)
This warranty applies only where:
Installation has been carried out in accordance with industry standards
The subfloor has been correctly prepared
Environmental conditions are suitable
The flooring is used for internal residential purposes
Commercial installations must be agreed in writing.
2. Scope of Cover
This warranty covers verified manufacturing defects including:
Structural integrity of the tile/plank
Locking system failure (click products) caused by production fault
Delamination of layers due to manufacturing defect
Premature wear-through of the wear layer under normal residential use
Where a valid defect is confirmed, Easy Step Flooring will supply replacement material of equivalent specification.
3. Manufacturing & Visual Tolerances
LVT products are manufactured within industry tolerances.
Permitted dimensional tolerance: ±0.5mm – 1mm
Up to 5% variation per pack is considered acceptable.
Natural shade variation between batches may occur.
Colour matching can only be guaranteed between products with the same production number.
All packs must be checked prior to installation.
Installation of any board constitutes acceptance.
4. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
Scratches, dents, scuffs or cuts
Burn damage
Indentations from heavy furniture
Damage caused by grit or stones
Staining from chemicals or rubber-backed mats
Improper cleaning methods
Gloss reduction due to wear
Improper installation
Adhesive failure due to incorrect preparation
Subfloor movement
Hydrostatic pressure
Flooding, plumbing leaks or appliance leaks
Damage caused by excessive moisture
LVT is water-resistant, but subfloor moisture failure is not covered.
5. Installer Responsibilities
The installer must:
Inspect all boards before fitting
Reject visibly defective boards
Confirm substrate suitability
Test and record moisture levels
Use appropriate adhesive (for glue-down)
Ensure correct expansion allowance (for click systems)
Follow manufacturer installation method
Improper installation voids warranty.
6. Subfloor Requirements
Subfloors must be:
Clean
Dry
Structurally sound
Level within 3mm over 2m
Free from cracks or movement
Concrete subfloors must meet industry moisture standards before installation.
Particle board, chipboard or unstable substrates are not suitable.
Levelling compound must be fully cured prior to installation.
7. Underfloor Heating
LVT may be installed over water-based underfloor heating systems where approved.
Conditions:
Maximum subfloor temperature: 27°C
Heating must be turned off 24 hours prior to installation
Temperature must be increased gradually after installation
Subfloor must be level and stable
Failure to follow heating protocol voids warranty.
8. Additional Terms – Glue Down LVT
Flooring must be fully adhered using approved adhesive
Adhesive must be applied in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
Subfloor must be primed where required
Hydrostatic pressure or moisture vapour issues are excluded
Bond failure caused by moisture or poor preparation is not covered.
9. Additional Terms – SPC / Rigid Core Click
SPC flooring must be installed as a floating floor.
Minimum expansion gap:
5–8mm around all walls and fixed objects.
Maximum installation area:
(Example — adjust to your ranges if required)
6mm Click: max 500m², max 25m length/width
5mm Click: max 225m², max 15m length/width
Larger installations require expansion breaks.
Do not:
Fix through the planks
Install under heavy fixed units
Force locking mechanisms
Damaged click systems caused during installation are not covered.
10. Environmental Conditions
Room temperature during installation:
18°C – 27°C
Post-installation temperature must be maintained for 48 hours.
SPC flooring is not suitable for:
Unheated conservatories
Areas with extreme temperature fluctuation
Outdoor spaces
11. Expansion & Movement
Click LVT requires perimeter expansion space.
Failure to leave adequate expansion space may result in:
Buckling
Lifting
Joint separation
This is not a manufacturing defect.
Kitchen islands and cabinetry must not be installed on top of floating SPC flooring.
12. Claims Procedure
If a defect is suspected:
Notify Easy Step Flooring in writing within 14 days of discovery
Provide proof of purchase
Provide installation details
Provide photographs
Provide moisture test results
We reserve the right to inspect prior to approving any claim.
Where valid:
Replacement material only will be supplied.
This warranty excludes:
Labour costs
Removal costs
Reinstallation costs
Consequential losses
13. Limitation of Liability
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser.
Replacement product may vary slightly in shade due to production differences.
If the original product is discontinued, an equivalent product of similar specification will be offered.
